Drain Cleaning Services

When your toilet is clogged and overflows, the experience is awful. Between not being able to use the toilet and having to deal with the smell of the sewage, it can be downright unbearable. You can try plunging the drain, but that isn’t always enough. It’s ill advised to try using chemical drain cleaning solution because if the solution can’t make it to the blockage in the drain, the chemicals will damage the pipes, creating more problems than solutions. That why hiring Custom Plumbing in Phoenix, AZ is the best decision that you can make when deciding to hire plumbing contractors.

Depending on the severity of the blockage in the drain causing the clogging, there are two methods that will fix the issue completely. One solution is the use of the plumbing snake. The plumbing snake uses a pointed tip on the end of a thin metal rod to push through the blockage and allows water to flow down the drain again. There is also the use of hydro jetting drain cleaning. By spraying a powerful pressurized stream of water, hydro jetting is used to take care of the most severe cases of clogged drains. Hydro jetting is the most effective method of drain clean due to the amount of force that the jet stream delivers.

FAQ'S

How to repair a toilet flange?

Follow these steps to properly repair a broken flange. We recommend that you also read the manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations for products to use in order to have proper safety measures in place.
1. Place a towel or newspapers nearby so you have a place to set the toilet after removing it.
2. Turn off the water supply.
3. Flush and drain the toilet.
4. Disconnect the water supply hose attached to the toilet.
5. Remove the nuts at the base of the toilet.
6. Lift the toilet straight up and place it on the nearby towel or newspapers.
7. Lightly place a towel inside the outflow pipe to prevent objects from falling into the pipe.
8. Use a putty knife to scrape off the old wax ring.
9. Remove the screws attaching the flange to the floor.
10. Remove the flange. If you have a glued or cast iron flange, it is best to contact a plumber to finish the repair.
11. Buy a replacement flange and wax ring at the hardware store using the old flange as a guide.
12. Install the bolts into the flange, push the flange into place on the outflow pipe, and secure the flange with screws.
13. Remove the towel from the outflow pipe.
14. Install the new wax ring onto the bottom of the toilet.
15. Replace the toilet, secure it to the bolts at the base, and reconnect the water supply hose.
16. Turn on the water supply valve and allow the toilet to fill. Test for leaks at the base of the toilet by flushing a few times.

How to repair an RV toilet foot pedal?

Simply turn off and disconnect the water supply to the toilet in an RV. Then take out two bolts on each side that hold the toilet in place, and take the toilet off. Place it where you can reach the foot pedal assembly with ease. Once the hole has been sealed, cover it with a towel. By doing this, foul odors won’t be released.
Once everything is done, you can remove the cover to the pedal. If it uses a pinch system, you’ll need to push both sides of the pedal together until they release. With some toilets, there are screws that need to be removed or a couple bumps that need to hit. Once it’s off, reverse your steps and put the new one on in its place. And don’t forget to remove the rag first!
Reinstall the bolts, re-connect, and start the water supply, and you’re done.

Are Flushable Wipes Really Flushable?

Are flushable wipes really flushable? This is a question that many of us have asked ourselves while standing in the bathroom with a fresh pack of wet wipes in our hands. Let’s be real: using wet wipes to clean up after using the toilet has become a popular trend. They’re marketed as “flushable” and “septic-safe,” which means it’s perfectly fine to flush them down the toilet, right? Wrong! In this blog, we’re going to explore whether or not flushable wipes are actually flushable, and why they can cause serious damage to your home’s plumbing. So, Are Flushable Wipes Actually Flushable?  Oh, flushable wipes claim to be sewer-friendly and septic-safe, giving us the illusion that we can flush them down the toilet without a second thought. But are they really flushable? Spoiler alert: not exactly.  Despite what the label on the packaging may tell you, flushable wipes take longer to break down than good old-fashioned toilet paper. This means that these seemingly harmless wipes increase the risk of clogged pipes and blockages, which could result in some hefty plumbing bills. So, flushable wipes can potentially leave your bank account drained (pun intended). And, if you think that flushing them down the … Continue reading Are Flushable Wipes Really Flushable?

Got a Toilet Leaking Water? Here’s What You Can Do to Fix It

The bathroom is supposed to be a place of peace and solitude, but when you have a toilet leaking water, scrolling on your phone is a lot less fun. Leaking toilets are a problem for many reasons. When they malfunction, they don’t send you-know-what down to you-know-where. They can leave you with a mess. If the water leak goes unnoticed for even an hour, it can cause hundreds of dollars in damage. Want to protect your wallet (and your sanity)? Here are a few solutions to some common scenarios. Broken Seal at the Base of the Toilet If you notice your toilet leaking water around its base, it is likely that you have a bad seal. The wax seal that connects your toilet to your home’s plumbing is a critical piece of equipment, and when it gets damaged, it allows water to leak from the bowl onto the floor. If you notice water pooling around the base of your toilet, you will need to remove the toilet and replace this seal. Broken Flapper While this problem does not usually result in your toilet leaking water onto the floor, it can be annoying. If your toilet doesn’t stop running after you … Continue reading Got a Toilet Leaking Water? Here’s What You Can Do to Fix It

3 Simple Ways to Avoid a Sewer Backup and Save Your Home from Going Down the Toilet

What goes down must not come up! If you want to avoid the mess of a sewer backup, these tips are for you. Whether you are doing laundry or using the toilet, the last thing you want to happen is for whatever you are sending down the drain to come back into your home. You don’t need an active imagination to picture what that would look like—just think of the damage to your carpets and hardwood flooring! Fortunately, you have a chance to stop that from happening if you know the signs. Use these tips to avoid a major sewer backup. Don’t Ignore That Bad Smell Do your drains smell like sewage? That’s one of the signs that you have a possible sewer backup on your hands. When a drain gets clogged, whether from roots invading your main line or from something that just got stuck, the material that gets stuck in the pipes decomposes, which produces a foul smell. It is possible that the smell is coming from a clog that is isolated to a single drain, but if conventional methods of clearing the blocked drain do not work, calling a plumber might be necessary to determine whether the … Continue reading 3 Simple Ways to Avoid a Sewer Backup and Save Your Home from Going Down the Toilet
