Why regular drain cleaning services are critical? Here’s why you should schedule yours.

Clogged drains are no laughing matter – they pose serious health risks to everyone living in the home. Dirty water slowly starts to accumulate without proper upkeep, and there is no way of telling when this murky mess will cause problems. As this dirty water spreads throughout the home, toxic mold and mildew grow out of control – creating additional problems that range from allergies to fatal illnesses. The situation gets worse when these pesky critters take refuge in stagnant puddles where they find a comfortable place to lay eggs; leaving you vulnerable to dangerous bugs like fleas, cockroaches, and rats!

A septic system can be a severe cause of a slow or halted drain. If the septic system is not maintained for an extended time, sewage may overflow the drain pipes and into the house. If sewage has overflowed into the leach field of a septic system, the lines there may need to be replaced at great expense. Masses of small tree roots invading the main subsurface drain are another source of clogged drains. Plumbers can get rid of them and offer advice on keeping the drain clear.

Why are regular drain cleaning services critical?

Every day, your drains are put to a lot of work, whether it’s doing the dishes, showering after a hard day, or washing your hands after gardening. These vital systems can withstand a lot, from filth, soap, and dirt to hair. Everything has a limit, and your drains are no exception. It’s time to call in the professionals. If you did not clean correctly, you’d reach that limit regularly, and you’d notice poor drainage or a significant clog.

The Benefits of Drain Cleaning

If you don’t have a set of plans for drain cleaning, you should probably put it on your list of things to do. Proper drain cleaning has many benefits and gets rid of clogs so that your system works well all year.

The following are five significant advantages of drain cleaning:

1. Reduced blockage risk:

Most homeowners hire drain cleaning services to get rid of a clog or reduce the chance of a blockage issue. Debris can cause drains to block over time. Sluggish drainage and clogged drains, even drain fissures, can occur if this accumulation is not handled properly.

By keeping the gutters clean, you can stop clogs from happening. The inside of the pipe will be cleaner, which will make it easier for water and waste to flow through.

2. Decreased Odor:

When a blockage is severe, you might be able to tell just by the smell. Bacteria and even mold can form when food particles get stuck in your drains. It might cause unpleasant odors to spread throughout the house. Without a professional cleaner, it can be hard to get rid of these smells.

When you clean your drains regularly, the odors go away. When you clean your sewer, the smells don’t get into your home in the first place. Also, to reduce odors, we strongly suggest that you have the trap cleaned well.

3. Emergency repairs will be less expensive:

A severe blockage may result in burst pipes, leaks, and other issues. Although these plumbing difficulties are reasonably frequent, they are extremely costly. Do not expose yourself to the possibility of incurring high costs. By maintaining a clean drain, you guarantee that any problems with the plumbing system are detected before they become severe enough to need a complete pipe replacement.

4. Improvement of air quality indoors:

Bacteria and pests can reside in clogged drains, and when these toxins circulate into your home, they have the potential to degrade the quality of your indoor air.

5. Increased longevity:

Regular cleaning reduces the likelihood of repairs and can also extend the life of your drains.

Final thoughts

Regular drain cleaning services ensures not just a clean working drain but also a clean residence. Water from your plumbing system or sewage line may include bacteria, insects, and other pathogens. When the system is backed up or blocked, these toxins enter the residence. Regular cleaning helps prevent these filthy organisms from invading your house and endangering your family. Avoid health concerns and medical expenses by scheduling expert drain cleaning regularly.

How long does it take to fix a slab leak? Find out in this article, then get in touch with us to fix the problem!

Are you seeing warm water spots on the floor, low water pressure in the shower, or a higher-than-expected water bill? Your property may have a slab leak.

A slab leak occurs if the pipes under your home’s concrete foundation get broken. Initially, these leaks may seem minor. However, if you do nothing, they may cause considerable damage.

Since there is no simple access to the underground pipes, the whole process of fixing a slab leak may be stressful, complex, and expensive. Also, if you didn’t know, it’s likely that your insurance won’t pay for the repairs.

What causes a slab leak?

There are many possible causes of a pipe leak beneath the slab. Perhaps the most important is the faulty building of your home. The problem may happen if the pipes’ quality is substandard or if the pipes are bent or damaged during installation.

Sometimes, pipes are made of copper, which is more likely to corrode, so a new pipe needs to be installed instead of just repaired. Abrasion can cause pipes to leak. Abrasion occurs when tubes rub against other materials, like other pipes, gravel, or concrete.

Even if the building of your house is perfect, the water pressure can cause the pipes to leak. Erosion from an earthquake can cause the soil under the foundation to move, putting pressure on the pipes. Leaks in slabs can cause a lot of damage and cause flooding if they are not fixed.

The pH of the water can also cause slab leaks. Anything too acidic or too basic will damage the pipes over time.

Slab leak detection and repair

When a leak is discovered, the expert begins the repair procedure. Your plumber will decide how to fix it. Most slab leaks can be fixed in one of three ways:

  • Re-piping: Sometimes, the entire plumbing system will need replacement. This is because it’s very old. In this instance, the re-piping procedure is used. Instead of fixing just one pipe, a professional might choose to repair the whole system.
  • Opening Foundation: This is the most intrusive option because you must dig through the slab to reach the damaged pipe.
  • Pipe coating is among the simplest and most highly recommended methods since the pipe can be recoated using the epoxy mixture. It is inexpensive and less disruptive, as well as eco-friendly.

How long does it take to fix a slab leak?

Naturally, plumbers must first locate the slab leak’s specific position. They do this by using modern equipment like pressure sensors, video pipe cameras, and other devices. They may then proceed to repair the leak.

On average, repairing a slab leak might take one to three days. The time might vary depending on two factors:

  • The severity of the damage
  • Plumbers’ preferred method of repair

What happens if you don’t fix a slab leak?

If you don’t catch a slab leak early enough, you might anticipate significant damage of numerous kinds. The following are the most common effects of an undetected slab leak:

Slab leaks may cause your foundation to slide or possibly break, depending on the severity of the leak.

  • Flooring deterioration: If you wait too long for the leak to stop, you’ll have soaked carpets, broken tiles, and wet flooring.
  • Yard flooding: Leaks in your concrete foundation may spread and even end up in your yard, causing damage to your grass, landscaping, and outdoor pools.
  • Mold: Mold develops when water from slab leaks reaches the drywall. As a consequence, drywall becomes saturated, and mold begins to form. This slab leak byproduct is extremely harmful since it may cause respiratory infections and other health issues.

How long does it take to fix a slab leak? If you hire a professional, repairing a slab leak can be quick and easy. Look for someone who has done it before. Ask around, get reviews, and only then make a decision. If you hire someone who doesn’t have any idea of what they’re doing, they’ll probably make a mess. Your plumbing system is pretty complicated. If you do something wrong, the whole system can be broken.

Thinking of installing yard irrigation for your property? This article offers some advice to help you get started.

The plants in your garden need the right amount of water at the right time. If you haven’t done these, the plants in your garden will start to die. As a homeowner who wants to do their part to make the world a greener place to live, this is the last thing you want. The good thing is that an irrigation system can help you achieve this goal by making sure that your plants always have water.

It’s not easy to find the right irrigation system, and you might need help from a plumber. But this guide will show you some plumbing tips for your garden that you should think about when setting up your garden’s irrigation system.

1. Be Familiar With Your Area’s Water Regulations

Make sure you know the water rules in your area before buying the gardening tools you need to set up your system. You can find this information by reading materials that explain the water rules in your area in detail. This means going to your state’s offices in person or looking at their website.

You could also talk to a certified professional familiar with the rules about water irrigation in your area. Research online to find out everything you need to know about the water regulations in your place. This gives you the right to go ahead and install a good irrigation system without worrying about legal issues in the future. It also keeps you from paying a plumber more money to fix things or do them over.

2. Know the Right Components

It would be best not to set up your own yard irrigation system. If you don’t fix problems as they come up, you might have to spend more money on this project. This happens most of the time because you don’t know how to use the right plumbing tools to get the job done.

3. Inspect the irrigation system

You’ll need to check the yard irrigation system regularly to ensure it’s in good shape. During this inspection, you need to pay close attention to the nozzles and valves to ensure they work well. This is important because rocks and dirt often get into the valves or nozzles and stop the water from flowing freely. Because of this, your garden won’t get as much water as it needs.

You also need to replace dead batteries and check the timers to ensure they are set to the correct date and time. Also, you should carefully check the pipe for any leaks that could stop enough water from getting to your garden.

4. Use a Drip Line Emitter

The pressure of the water changes all the time. The best way to solve this problem is to use a drip line emitter. This makes sure that all of your plants always get enough water, no matter how strong the water pressure is. The drip line emitter also keeps your flower bed from getting damaged by too much water pressure because it controls water flow. The water also goes straight into the soil, so your plants won’t be hurt.

5. Prepare Yourself financially

Setting up a yard irrigation system isn’t cheap, so you shouldn’t rush into it without making sure you have the money for it. This project has a lot of costs, like buying the parts that are needed and paying a plumber to do the work.

Take your time looking for a plumber and try to find one who charges fair prices without lowering the quality of their work. You should also think carefully about the parts you want to add to your garden’s irrigation system since some can put a big dent in your budget.

Our Drain Cleaning Plumber Services include:

Clogged toilets, showers, and sinks are a nightmare for any household. This is especially aggravating if you’ve tried plunging or a chemical cleaning solution, yet the clog persists. Hiring Custom Plumbing for the best home plumbing services is the answer. Our emergency plumber will come to your rescue and clean your drain so you no longer have to struggle with the discomfort and stench.

A plumbing snake is the best answer for a blockage too challenging for a plunger to handle but still easy enough to force through. The most frequently used cleaning equipment is the plumbing snake. The plumbing snake slides down the pipe and pushes through the blockage with a sharp tip on the end of a metal rod, allowing the water to flow again.

The plumbing snake is an economical alternative to choose when deciding how to deal with the obstruction causing the drain to clog. Our plumbers will clear the block so that you may use your drain on the same day you contact us.

While drain snakes are quite helpful in most situations, their pointed tips aren’t powerful enough to remove every blockage from your drain. As a result, we also provide hydro jetting drain cleaning services. A hydro jet is a gadget with a powerful water jet that clears clogs in drains by spraying high-pressure water into them. This jet stream is powerful enough to remove any obstruction in the gutter, no matter how large.

Whether there are tree branches or boulders in the drain, the hydro-jet has the power to drive the objects down the drain, allowing water to flow again. Another advantage of the hydro jet is that it can clear the drain walls of any grease buildup that may have caused or is causing the clog.

The hydro jetting drain cleaning procedure is more expensive than using a plumbing snake because of the effectiveness of high-pressure water, but the extra money our plumbers charge will assure that you will completely clean the drain of anything causing the clog now and in the future.

One thing to consider before having your pipes cleaned with hydro jetting is the type of pipes you have. Due to its force, hydro jetting drain cleaning may be too much for old, rusted pipes that are starting to break down and pipes composed of fragile materials like PEX or PVC plumbing.

Not sure how to unclog a urinal? Try these three simple methods to get your urinal working properly again.

A commercial property owner needs to know how to unclog a urinal because this is a typical building maintenance issue. It is common for urinals to become clogged in unisex and male restrooms. Although unclogging a urinal might seem like a messy undertaking depending on the state of the restroom, it’s much easier than you think, as long as you have the right tools. Clogs in foul-smelling urinals have the advantage that they are easily decomposable since they are slowly broken down. When taking the necessary steps, unclogging a clogged urinal should not be too difficult. However, it will depend on the severity of the clog.

Methods for unclogging urinals

It is mainly a problem in public restrooms because urinals are designed to operate without clogging for the most extended amount of time. There is nothing romantic about filling the urinal up with obstructions. Below are some methods of unclogging a urinal that you may find helpful.

Using a plunger to unclog a urinal

If the problem appears to be a simple blockage, a plunger is the best tool to clear a clogged urinal. It is a good idea to remove any cake or plastic insert on top of the drain in the urinal and any other debris that should not be there. Unscrew the drain cover from its hole in the wall and remove the drain cover.

Using a plunger, you should plunge the drain again once it has been cleaned. You will likely hear noise coming from the drainpipe after you pump the plunger several times. Also, you should check if the clogged urinal has been successfully cleaned by flushing it. You have fixed your urinal if you can see the water going all the way down before it stops.

Nevertheless, a few urinals become blocked by a buildup of debris that a plunger can’t remove. In such a case, urinal augers might be necessary to remove the obstruction in the urinal.

      Drill With a Drain Auger

Unclogging toilets and urinals is accomplished with drain augers. An auger for a toilet is different from an auger for a urinal. The longer rod on the latter makes it more challenging to unclog urinals. With a drum attached to the auger, it can be wound and pushed inside the urinal easier.

Manual or electric augers can be used without a problem as well. There is a motorized drum for the electric one, so no work is required. By hand cranking augers, you extend their lifetimes and reduce vibrations.

      Snake a Urinal

On the other hand, simply plunging your urinal will not be sufficient to remove the obstruction, you might need to try to snake the drain rather than merely plunging; otherwise, you may just have to flush. To do the snaking of your urinal, you have two options: hire a professional or make it yourself using a urinal auger that you can get from a store. Drain augers can be used to remove tougher blockages and snake drains.

Drain augers consist of a drum that is fed through the drain and allows you to break up blockages by feeding the drum through the drain. The coil at the end of the drainpipe is specifically designed to capture any pieces of debris to prevent them from blocking your drain line after they have been dislodged.

Initially, you will have to insert the cable into the drain opening by pulling out several feet of cable from the middle. If the cable is already in the drain opening, you should begin turning the handle immediately after inserting it. Keep turning the handle until the coil is fed down the drainpipe; you may feel some resistance as you are doing this. After you have reached the last 3–4 feet of the coil in the drum, stop turning the handle when you have reached the end of it. You will need to slowly pull the cable back through the drainpipe as soon as you have completed this step. You will have to inspect the top of the cable once you have completed this step to check if anything has been caught on the end.

It is possible that the coil did not pull anything out of the pipe, depending on the type of blockage. Nonetheless, this does not mean the blockage was not cleared. It’s possible that you didn’t remove all the blockages on the coil if there is a lot of grime. Clean it by hand again just to be sure. By flushing the urinal again, test if all the water is flushed away as it should. If so, then it has been cleared.

Don’t Know How to Unclog a Urinal?

Not sure how to unclog a urinal? Your next step should be to call a professional plumber if you are sure you cannot unclog the urinal using the plumbing tools you already own. Your commercial property shouldn’t have clogged urinals just sitting around. Follow the guide mentioned above as well. These solutions will all assist you in removing irritating clogs in your urinal. Once you have cleaned your urinal, all you have to do is prevent future problems.
